Who We Are and What We Do

MOSAIC is the only resource which exists in Brighton & Hove and Sussex to combat racism specifically within the Black and mixed-parentage community. MOSAIC is a strong grassroots local support organisation which has developed & sustained its services for over 20 years. MOSAIC is user-led and volunteers are critical to the delivery of existing & new services.

We provide a wide range of services which include:

  • Bring-A-Dish monthly event
  • Under 5's group
  • Cric! Crac! Storytelling
  • Advocacy in Education
  • Training in parenting
  • Quarterly Newsletter used by Voluntary & Community Organisations (VCOs) and SA to promote job opportunities, events and information relevant to MOSAIC membership.
  • Resource boxes
  • Anti-racist Resource Library with more than 1,000 multicultural books
  • Family orientated outings and creative workshops aimed at supporting children's and young people's development of positive cultural identity

All services provide an informal support network for Black and Mixed-Parentage individuals and families. We help individual victims of racism and represent our members' interests at both the strategic and policy-making levels.
