Brighton Festival Children's Parade 1st May 2010
A very popular annual event. MOSAIC children and their families participate in the Children's Parade with workshops facilitated by local artists to prepare structures and costumes at the Under Fives, Bring-A-Dish and extra workshops.
This year the overall theme of the parade was "The Planet" which was divided into its four regions: "Polar", "Temperate", "Tropical" and "Desert". MOSAIC was in the Temperate zone and our theme was "WHERE TWO OCEANS MEET: The INDIAN and the ATLANTIC".
BIG THANKS to:
- Nicki Day who led us in our dance on parade day! You brought us to life! You were BRILLIANT!
- Christina Lord and Sally Khatun for helping the day go smoothly both before and after the event!
- Paul Jackson for being the Official MOSAIC Parade Photographer! (Can't wait to see the FAB pics!!)
- Jill Howes for helping everyone get into the building in the morning!
- The Children's Parade Planning Committee: Bethan Prosser, Rachana Sarcar-Winter, Gamze Adali, Nyawa Bottomley and Jodi Stelzer for helping it to all come together!
- Althea Wolfe for making sure we had sustenance even though she had TWO organizations to take care of!
- Sarah, our work placement from Hove Park school, for helping to paint the boats, banner and other parade-related stuff!
We had such a wonderful time and we were really pleased that the weather held out for our great day! The day was a HUGE success!!
THANK YOU to all who participated! We could not have done it without you!
